DOUGLAS, SEE WHAT YOU CAN DO WITH THIS ONE. IT WAS WRITTEN BY MY BLIND GRANDFATHER.

Have you so soon forgotten, those hours of anxious prayer,

When mother by your bedside poured forth her ardent prayer.

She prayed to God in heaven, your ebbing life to spare. He knows a mother’s heartache; He hears a mother’s prayer.

***********************************************************************************************

CHORUS:

WHEREVER YOU MAY WANDER, YOUR TIME ON EARTH TO SPEND,

BOYS DON’T FORGET YOUR MOTHER, SHE IS A BOY’S BEST FRIEND.

******************************************************************************************************

You may outgrow your cradle, also your baby chair,

But while on earth you wander, you can’t outgrow her care.

When through the gates of heaven, she sweeps unhampered there.

God save my precious children, will be this mother’s prayer.

*******************************************************************************************************

Now mother’s steps are feeble, her cheeks no longer fair,

Her gentle steps are feeble, her cheeks no longer fair,

Her gentle steps are failing; there’s silver in her hair.

But still her heart beats fondly, and fervent is her prayer.

DOUGLAS, PLEASE SEE WHAT YOU CAN DO PUTTING THIS ONE TO MUSIC. THANKS, MY FRIEND.

PEPPER

That God will keep her children, beneath His watchful care.
